Sandrans is a small village at the heart of the Dombes region between Lyon and Bourg-en-Bresse. As a former Burgundian village, Sardans used to be a fiefdom during the Early Middle Ages, owned by the lord of Sandrans. This family passed away during the 13th century, and Sadrans became Bressan property, and was then owned by the Savoie. It became property of Dombes in the 17th century.
